Recreational

 

Our recreational program provides safe and structured learning for children of all ages and levels.  Our nationally certified coaches are here to help your child learn all the gymnastics fundamentals using the CanGym program. 

Fall Session Dates

Tuesday:       September 8 to December 8  (14 weeks)

Wednesday: September 9 to December 9  (14 weeks)

Thursday:     September 10 to December 10  (14 weeks)

Friday:          September 11 to December 11  (14 weeks)

Saturday:      September 12 to December 12  (13 weeks; no class October 10 for Thanksgiving)

Sunday:        September 13 to December 13  (13 weeks; no class October 11 for Thanksgiving)

Monday:       September 14 to December 14  (13 weeks; no class October 12 for Thanksgiving)

How to Register

Current Members

  1. Whether your first registration was online or in person at the office, you now have a family account/online customer portal through which you can register your child(ren).  If you are a returning member, you MUST register your child(ren) through your CURRENT Online Customer Portal.  Please do not use the online registration form meant only for new clients (this will mean extra Gymnastics Ontario Fees automatically being charged to your account).

  2. Login using your email and password.  If you are unsure what email you have used, please email us at galaxygymnastics@gmail.com and we will look it up for you.

  3. If you do not remember your password, click on the “Forgot Your Password” link and one will be sent to your email address.

  4. Once you are in your customer portal, you can register all of your children directly through the portal for any of our recreational programs!

How to Register

New Members

  1. Click on the “Register Online Now” link on the Home Page of the website

  2. Create a new profile including both family/guardian and child information.

  3. You will be given the option to add another child under the same account.  All siblings should be under the same family account.

  4. Click “Search/Enroll in Classes” to see a table of all the classes available for online registration. 

  5. Follow the steps to complete the registration and payment.

  6. If the class that you want is full and you would like to be put on the Wait List, follow the steps to complete registration for the class however you will not be charged.

  7. Through the Studio Director portal, you are able to see the classes you have enrolled in, payment history, and change any personal information.

Parent & Tot (18 months - 2 Years)


Our parent and tot classes are 45 minutes of structured gymnastics that is geared towards motor skill development as well as parent and child interaction! Each week, our coaches will teach you how to help your child bounce on our Tumbl Trak trampoline, jump, kick and climb over boxes and beams, and how to swing and hang on the bars.




Parent & Kinder (3 - 4 Years)


Our Parent & Kinder classes are 60 minutes of structured gymnastics that is geared to creating all the foundations necessary for gymnastics. In addition to having fun, children will learn all their basic gymnastics shapes, and the proper way to jump, land, and roll around!
Children are marked according to our very own Kinder Stars level system! At the end of the session, your child will receive a report card outlining all the skills they successfully achieved. When your child successfully completes an entire level, they will also receive a ribbon! Due to the current COVID-19 guidelines, a parent/guardian is allowed into the class with each child in order to limit physical contact from our coaches.




Junior (5 - 6 Years)


Our Junior classes are 60 minutes in length and are structured around the National CanGym program. The first levels of CanGym focus on fundamental movement patterns and basic skill progressions. A rotating schedule means that your child will spend time on 3 events one week and different events the following week.
At the end of the session, your child will receive a CanGym report card which outlines all of the skills they successfully achieved that session. When your child successfully completes an entire level, they will also receive a CanGym ribbon!




Intermediate (7 - 9 Years)


Our Intermediate classes are 60 minutes in length and are structured around the National CanGym program. The first levels of CanGym focus on fundamental movement patterns and basic skill progressions. A rotating schedule means that your child will spend time on 3 events one week and different events the following week.
At the end of the session, your child will receive a CanGym report card which outlines all of the skills they successfully achieved that session. When your child successfully completes an entire level, they will also receive a CanGym ribbon!




Senior (10+ Years)


Our Intermediate classes are 60 minutes in length and are structured around the National CanGym program. The first levels of CanGym focus on fundamental movement patterns and basic skill progressions. A rotating schedule means that your child will spend time on 3 events one week and different events the following week. At the end of the session, your child will receive a CanGym report card which outlines all of the skills they successfully achieved that session. When your child successfully completes an entire level, they will also receive a CanGym ribbon!




Advanced Classes


Advanced Classes are 60 minutes in length and are offered for the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior age categories. Children must have successfully achieved CanGym Level 3 (Tan) to enroll in this program. The higher levels of CanGym have a greater skill focus and start building the progressions for bigger and harder skills. Similar to the Recreational Classes, Advanced Classes operate on a rotating schedule, allowing athletes to spend more time focusing on 3 events per day. At the end of the session, your child will receive a CanGym report card which outlines all of the skills they successfully achieved that session. As the levels get harder, it is common to take more than one session to successfully complete the entire level. When your child does complete the entire level, they are rewarded with a CanGym ribbon!




Pre-Competitive Classes


Pre-Competitive Classes are 120 minutes in length and are for children who have successfully achieved CanGym Level 5 (Purple) and have been assessed by a Nationally Certified Competitive Coach. Classes are focused on developing specific strengthening and progressions necessary to achieve higher levels! Families can register for either one or two classes per week!




Tumbling Classes (6-13 Years)


Our Tumbling classes are 60 minutes in length and are structured around our very own Tumbling level system. This program teaches progressions for all the common skills performed on the floor and Tumbl Trak. At the end of the session, your child will receive a certificate outlining all the skills they successfully achieved. When your child successfully completes an entire level, they will also receive a ribbon!




Skill Clinics (6-13 Years)


Skill Clinics are 45 minutes in length and focus on all the drills and progressions for a particular skill, lead by one of our competitive coaches. It is with the coaches discretion to determine the appropriate level of drills for each child that registers. Skill clinics can be booked individually however pre-registration is required. Skill Clinics in the Fall Session include: September 8: Front Walkover September 22: Back Walkover October 13: Front Handspring October 27: Back Handspring November 17: Front Tuck December 1: Aerial Cartwheel




Adult Open Gym (16+)


Adult Open Gym Classes are 90 minutes in length and are offered every Tuesday night from 8:45pm-10:15pm. A competitive coach is present at all times, however the class is not structured. Pre-registration for each individual class is now required in order to maintain Covid protocols.




Private Lessons


Private and Semi-Private Lessons can be booked through the office via phone or email. Depending on the desired focus and your availability, the office will match you with an appropriate coach that would be well suited for your needs.
